They came and were fabulous.
They will be back. Thanks for having written the first chapter. The story goes on.
Two thirds of this first project have been funded by you. Which means: your participation on this website paid the manufacturing of the CD and the major part of the tour. Thanks to all of the microcultivators whose names are proudly displayed on this page (cheers also to all the anonymous donators).
The fundraising part is over, yet the project isn't. The album is now available for sale. These sales are the main source of income for Phantom Buffalo and Microcultures.
We offer you to order "Cement Postcard With Owl Colours", the previous Phantom Buffalo's albums or T-shirts directly on this website. To honour our will to give a better remuneration for artists, any purchase on this shop allows Phantom Buffalo to get an income part twice bigger than the one they would have with traditional retail stores. Spread the word.

To give you a preview of the album, you can listen to and download three of its tracks: Atleesta, Ray Bradbury's Bones, and Battle of the Roses.
It all began in Portland, Maine during the fall of 1998. The band that was to become Phantom Buffalo began playing music together as The Ponys. Within a year they were playing in basements and houses for parties at the art school where they met... In 2002 (when they had finished school) they went into a recording studio to cut tracks for their debut album Shishimumu. Shishimumu.
Recorded in 18 hours by Jon Wyman, mastered by David Cheppa and released by Nemo Bidstrup’s burgeoning Portland, Maine based record label Time-Lag Records, Shishimumu received the attention of Rough Trade records records, which released it in the UK February 2005. However, despite many extraordinary reviews attesting to the high quality of this album, commercial success was not in the equation. And Rough Trade did not release the follow up album Take to the Trees.
In 2010, Phantom Buffalo had another album ready. The magnificent Cement Postcard with Owl Colours is the harmonious result of a more than ten years long story, now ready to be spread to the world. Which is what we began to do with you.
During their first French-Belgian tour, Phantom Buffalo, « one of the best American bands in the world », impressed Shannon Wright's audience several times, shared a venue with the legendary Trumans Water, get the attention of indie distributors and the biggest daily paper in Holland, had the first cultural page in Libération, an amazing review on the national TV channel Arte, another one on the national Radio France Musique and even managed to get a focus on a political TV channel, the very serious Chaîne Parlementaire... everything has been partially allowed by you. Thanks and see you for the next chapter.

Cement Postcard With Owl Colours is the third Phantom Buffalo album after Shishimumu and Take to the Trees : third unclassifiable masterpiece of harmony and freshness, able to make spring happen in the middle of winter. Well, we love it. Critics (below) also. You might too.
